Here is the College from the air showing off well its commanding position  overlooking the river Dart. The stretch of the river seen here is stretching to the North

This picture shows a view from the college looking seaward to the South, overlooking the town of Dartmouth.

Closer inspection should reveal six P2000s in Formation One leaving
Dartmouth after a successful visit by URNUs, (University Royal Naval Units)

An 'acquaint visit' to the college in July 2003 by a helicopter from the Defence Helicopter School. This provided an excellent opportunity for the Young Officers [students] to gain first hand insight into The aviation career opportunities in the Royal Navy.

A senior Supply Officer observing the helicopter landing was heard to remark dryly "I imagine they're drumming up support for 'wafus'.

It is also a very rapid way to 'clear the parade ground!'

Lord High Admiral's Divisions 2003 were held in April with Prince Charles representing Her Majesty the Queen who is the Lord High Admiral.

Many of those officers 'passing out' [graduating] have also become members of the Britannia Association which help them to keep in touch with the college and old term mates as they disperse to their duties in the fleet.

Many cadets, midshipmen and Young Officers, overt the years, will surely recollect this early morning scene looking out from the college - taken July 2003.

Here is the one of the colleges rowing gigs on the River Dart.

The Britannia Association have made a grant to build 2 more, due for completion and launch in 2004.

These gigs are traditionally designed and locally built rowing boats originally designed to deliver pilots to incoming merchant ships. Crafted from English oak and Cornish elm they epitomise the traditional boat builder's art.

Pilot gigs are now raced throughout the West Country. The College now has a dynamic and committed club ready to participate fully in all aspects of this growing sport, both on and off the water. Gig rowing demands physical stamina, co-ordination, and team work and is proving popular among both staff and Young Officers as their first full season gets under way. Trainees are now volunteering for boat pulling at 0600!

Whilst recognising that modern opinion about hunting are changing the college history records hunt meetings - this one in 1948

The two Princesses, Elizabeth & Margaret Rose & Prince Philip playing croquet in the Commodore's garden in 1939 - the first time or certainly the second time they met.

The accompanying text to this photo in the archive says Princess Elizabeth visits BRNC and Dartmouth is gay with flags!
